My Kind of Retail Therapy: Notes on Adulting from my Mother
Retail Therapy, according to Wikipedia, is shopping with a primary purpose of improving the buyer’s mood or disposition, often seen during periods of depression or stress. Fortunately, I was raised to take pride in frugality by my mother. I get stressed spending money! I grew up donning her best buys from thrift shopping and they ain't look cheap, I tell ya! 😎 Being poor doesn't mean you have to look, act and talk cheap. I’m not as financially intelligent and as disciplined as she is. Her leading an example of prioritizing more important needs over material needs serves as a reminder to me of how my financial and life goals should be aligned.
